NAUZAAV DESIGNING’s engineering department offers support and services to all our projects as well as our fabrication services and module yards. This includes anything from performing lift studies to redesigning engineering items to current standers.
Our in-house design programs help in process equipment analysis, sequence analysis, and heavy lift planning, as well as anything needed during the constructability phase. We also continually research, develop and offer solutions and guidance to our field and fabrication personnel.
We leverage the best resources from across the company to help achieve clients’ visions of success.
We use AWP best practices from the Construction Industry Institute (CII) and the Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA). This procedure provides NAUZAAV DESIGNING with the framework to establish a scope of work into manageable portions that progress productivity, safety, quality, and tracking of construction work, providing a construction-driven project and consistent execution plan to our clients for the project’s lifecycle.
HeviLift is NAUZAAV DESIGNING’S 5D heavy lift planning software suite. Developed in house, HeviLift allows us to run hundreds of thousands of module lift scenarios to determine the most optimal and cost-effective delivery for our clients. Conceptualized in 2005, Hevilift was created to automate crane selection as part of the bidding process and construction planning, which manually was very time consuming.
NAUZAAV DESIGNING’s patented lift frame has reduced by as much as 90% the time required to modify rigging configurations over traditional assemblies. This advanced method of rigging components and other loads substantially reduces the HSE exposure hours and increases the cost effectiveness of the overall heavy lift program. What used to make takes a matter of hours, setting and a new bar for creative and safe work practices.
For the past two decades, NAUZAAV DESIGNING has been heavily involved with construction and engineering at both the University of Alberta and University of Houston. These varied and highly technical research programs have led to several application developments that have moved the industry forward. The topics covered include artificial intelligence, 3D modelling, discrete event simulation and automation.
Crafting an optimum hydrotest package requires the effort of a number of analysts reviewing the input of multiple line lists, isometrics, and piping and instrumentation drawings.
Cascade, our new method of defining and optimizing test packages uses intelligent 3D models to source key data points from the surrounding noise. Our algorithm allows analysts to define and scope test packages at twice the current rate while avoiding ongoing revisions, delays, and increased project costs.
